Akenza – Athletic Day

Yesterday my whole school and I had an amazing and wonderful Athletic Day! It was super fun we got to do Relays, running, Tug-o-war, sprint races, and 200m! Also 400m AND 100m! I enjoyed so much of the activities!

First we went in our colour groups we had 3 colour groups i think? The colours were…Orange, purple, and pink! I was in pink with my friends, and some of my other friends were in different colour teams.

Next we had the Junior Races! It was so cute but also enjoyable to watch! I think in the first place someone said that Chai pushed over a little girl that was in the front but then Chai pushed her out of the way and then came first. And i was like, “Ey that was a foul bro!!- Nah that’s not fair.” I think Chai did get scolded for pushing the girl. But….it was honestly a cool race to watch after that one!

Then we did the middle Seniors and Senior races! The Seniors had to go first for the 400m I waited until it was 100m so I waited with Misty! She was the speaker girl playing music. And when it was time to do the 100m i went slow at first but when i was close to the end i outran all of the girls there and made it first place! And in the 200m i got tired half way through it but i only walked for like 2 seconds and started running again so i ran faster and faster and i think i made 4th place?? Or 5th maybe 6th I honestly don’t know.

Finally we had another rest and then went down on the court to play some other activities with our PE teacher! We played a game called Leader Ball? But anyways! It was super fun!! And my team and I maybe got 2 or 3rd place? But I enjoyed everything that happened!

Conclusion: Participating in those activities was very enjoyable! But it was also tiring! I was glad that i got first place in the 100m! But i honestly didn’t do much but drink juice and water and just eat! Though i am grateful that my school has an athletic day!

Akenza – Te Manawa Sports

Intro: Today was our school’s very last session of Te Manawa sports, and we had a blast! But a bit of a tiring session too.

First we played the infinity tag. Basically how the game works is that everyone are taggers and whoever gets tagged has to sit down and wait until the person that tagged them get tagged that way they’re back in the game.

Next we had to play Shot Putt a game where you have to hold a ball in your hand and throw it as far and as hard as you can. I thought i did pretty well since i got it very far like it literally touched the railing.

Then we played Rippa Rugby- So we had to get a bib and stick it in our pants and pull out others bibs. My bib only came out 3 times. I honestly didn’t like the game much but i was glad that i barely had my bib ripped off.

Finally our last game of the session was Rob the Nest. I’m pretty sure most people know the game pretty well. But it was pretty tiring but also very enjoyable!

Conclusion: I felt very tired afterwards but also glad that the games were giving me some exercise and waking me up. It was pretty sad that it was our last time…

Akenza – Film Festival

Intro: Yesterday my whole school and some other schools went to the movies at Sylvia Park for the Manaiakalani Film Festival.

First my classmates and I went onto the bus. My friends and I rushed to the back of the bus, so all five of us were the only ones in the back! As the bus started driving to the Theatres we were laughing, making jokes, and played yellow car.

Next when all of us made it to the Sylvia Park Theatres, We got out of the bus and lined up into our class lines, going up onto the escalators and into the theatre, Sadly i couldn’t sit with my friends even though there was heaps of available seats for me and my friends to sit at! I had to sit in a different row where my friends were in the second row! I was far away from them….i was sad but brushed it off after ten seconds. The movies and presenters were awesome! But My favourite movie is Room Sevens one- Their movie was called “What is your dream?”

Then when all the movies were finished my row waited until we were called up to leave and go to the bus, Of course I catched up with my friends and we rushed to the back of the bus again- And started Joking and playing yellow car- AGAIN!

Finally we made it back to school at about- 1:20! Everyone either laid down on the may or ate on their tables, some even went outside to play! And after our break time we finished off whatever work we had and went home…

Conclusion: Going to Slylvia Park to see ours- and other schools movies made me happy- but also nervous to hear and see myself on A big screen. Though i am glad that it turned out SUPER awesome and great!

Akenza – A spider in my Bedroom

One early morning Alex woke up to the sight of an enormous spider on her bedroom wall. Alex was scared and carefully jumped out of bed running to her mum crying out, ”Mum! Mum!” Alex was now in front of her mum and told her about the enormous spider on her bedroom wall. Alex’s mum told her to throw it out of her window but Alex was unhappy about that plan. Alex told her mum, ”What if it leaped on my face!?” shouted Alex. Her mum went to investigate but it disappeared…it was gone…that made Alex even more scared….Nearly horiffied!! But Alex’s mum told her to get ready for school. But as she did she couldn’t stop thinking about it. Once Alex was done she went to school. But the thought of what happened in her morning distracted her from learning. That made the teacher very concerned and asked Alex what was in her mind? Alex told the story of what happened in her morning. The teacher understood what she felt and meant, and carried on with the learning school day.

After school Alex went home non-stop thinking about it…At night Alex was in bed shifting around too much! She was groaning because she couldn’t sleep Alex called out to her mum as her mum rushed over putting an insect net around Alex’s bed. Finally Alex fell asleep.

The next very early morning Alex woke up to the sight of the bug spider in her room…again! Alex knew it was too early to wake up her mum so she leaped out of bed, grabbed a jar and paper and she put the jar on-top of the spider and carefully slid the paper underneath, running towards the  window shaking the jar as the spider fell out landing outside on the wet cold and soft grass scurrying into the bushes as Alex happily called out, ”Happy hunting!”

Akenza – My fun holiday!

On Friday the 4th of Oct my family and I went to participate in a haka down in an arena at Auckland to bring back our world record home.

First we got ready and packed some food for how long we’ll have to wait until the show starts. We packed up the car and drove off to the arena. But there was no personal parking so we had to go on 3 different busses.

Next final stop everyone else on the bus huddled their way out and walked away into the arena as my family and I followed.

Then we found some seats to sit on, Take out some food and I nearly gobbled up the whole thing! After like 3-2 hours it finally started as some people performed on the stage and a samoan rock band performed too!

Finally after like another couple hours when it turned night time the haka finally started, we went in the second row behind the front. They showed us the actions and taught us the lyrics and then we started doing the haka! It.Was.AWSOME!! and kinda funny to me to be honest- Everything was tense but chill too!!!

Conclusion: Doing this made me feel more confident in everything else I felt super overjoyed and superb!! And I’m glad my parents took me there! It was a life changing experience!
